Thank you for requesting information regarding the Asheford Institute of Antiques distance-learning program. The Institute is an internationally recognized and accredited Course of study with students and graduates from around the world.
 
The school's curriculum reflects a global approach to decorative arts training, and is inclusive of virtually every major collecting category from antiques and collectibles to appraising and estate sales. From North America to Europe and Asia - and all points in between - the Institute offers a comprehensive training and study program to those interested in pursuing a career in the field of the decorative arts.

Our latest e-Course offering has been designed to include international trends and marketplace updates, along with content specific information related to the development of global antique and collectible styles and periods. From Chinese antiques to the international coverage of European antique fairs and art shows, you'll find everything you need to get started on your decorative arts studies right here...

​International Enrollment Eligibility Requirements
ANYONE may apply for admission to the Asheford Institute's decorative arts program. However, to be eligible to enroll in the school, it is recommended that you at least have a good fundamental working (and written) knowledge of the English language. Students are not required to have a GED equivalency test score, but must demonstrate the ability to comprehend the subject matter at hand, via the submission of OPEN-BOOK Course examinations.

Enrolling In The e-Course

For International Students, the wait is finally over... The Institute has just released its latest online version of the Asheford Program. At almost double the size of the original Course Textbooks, with streaming videos, links to antique resource sites, and thousands of illustrations and images, the new e-Course has been specifically designed with International Students in mind. Now, all your Course texts, teaching-aids, quizzes, examinations and conferencing with Course Instructor's can be completed entirely online through the new e-Course format.

- No waiting for Tracking Numbers and Course Textbooks to arrive by courier or mail
- No Customs clearance delays
- No VAT or additional important taxes
- No waiting for exams results to be mailed and returned

The new e-Course now allows direct access to all of your Course materials with the click of a mouse. Your enrollment can be taken by phone, or you can enroll directly online. Once your account has been approved, a pass-code will be emailed immediately for your first Plan of Study. You'll be able to get started right-away, with virtually no delay. Once you have finished your first Plan of study, simply complete your online examination, hit submit, and you'll be ready to move onto your next set of study materials. Should you wish to print off any section of your e-Course for a hard-copy reference - you can do so at any time.

FAQ's For International Students

Q. Is the e-Course content the same for international students?
A. Yes. The curriculum is the same, since it includes all the major styles, periods, and trends from around the world, not just North America. All relevant collecting areas of the decorative arts are covered from a global perspective.

Q. Are the school's credentials recognized globally?
A. Yes. The Institute's diploma and credentials for completion of the thirteen-volume course of study related to the decorative arts and appraising are recognized internationally. The school has graduates throughout the world on virtually every continent and has been teaching decorative arts studies for over half-a-century.

Q. Are all the tests and examinations included within the price of enrollment?
A. Yes, there are no additional testing fees of any kind.

Q. Are there any additional testing requirements for international students?
A.  No. All students receive the same testing and examinations regardless of location.

Q. How are my tuition payments made?
​A. Tuition payments can be made via credit or debit card and are converted into U.S. dollar amounts based on the payment plan selected.

Q. Are there any other special requirements for international students?
A. Only a good working knowledge of the English language - both spoken and written.
