Student Sales Program
"Interested in possibly earning a little extra income?"
WHERE AND HOW TO SELL THE PROGRAM
Selling the Asheford Program to potential students is easier than you might think. After all, having membership within the world's largest antique and decorative arts school does confer a certain amount of prestige to the uninitiated. Being able to capitalize on that status and position can be a great lead-in for developing future sales prospects. However, the trick to being successful in such an endeavor requires knowing where to find these leads...
LOCATIONS
Any place where antique enthusiasts gather is a good bet... flea markets, antique shows, auction sales, and antique malls are all good places to meet people and hand out brochures. Bring along a shoulder bag full of brochures, and hand out as many as you can - the more you give out, the greater your return! (*Printable PDF brochure files are located at the end of this page)
Friends or acquaintances who are also interested in antiques, but might not know of the Asheford Program are also likely candidates.
Organize meetings in your home, or common room, by advertising in community centers, your local chamber of Commerce, and by posting advertisements and comments on local online notice boards and chat groups (think Facebook). By joining as many online groups as you can related to antiques and collectibles, you'll develop an organic following that you can direct back to a potential web site that showcases your status as a sales representative for the school.
Ask your friends to help you find people who might be interested in taking the Course, and offer them a finders-fee for students who sign up.
These are just few ideas to help get you started selling. After you’ve tried a few of them, you’ll develop your own approach to selling that works best for you.
WHAT TO SAY
Remember, don’t be afraid to make contact with people, and let them know that you’re not just selling the Asheford curriculum, but that you’re also a student/graduate of the Institute as well.
Once people know that you’ve taken (or are taking) the course, and are also a member, they’ll be much more likely to want to ask you questions about the program - this will help you develop a good dialogue with a prospective students, and enhance your opportunity for a sale.
If your prospects seem really interested, you can go online and offer to show them some of the actual
e-Course content. Discuss with them what you’ve learned, as this is an excellent way to develop a one-on-one relationship with potential students who may be able to provide you with even more sales prospects in the future.
Below, you find all the necessary PDF files to get you started, as well as some great images to use for your promotions.
Now that you know some of the places to start, and a few of the things to say, all that’s left to do.... is make the effort!

HOW TO GET CREDIT FOR STUDENTS YOU ENROLL
There are a couple of options for graduates who are submitting prospective students to receive "credit" for their submissions. One is to simply email the names of the individuals in advance of enrollment to the school's Admissions Office, and the other is to have prospective students fill in the "How Did You Hear About Us" field on the enrollment application form.

Note: Either of these options can be used to indicate the enrollment of prospective students, however, we recommend the latter, as this will ensure that your account is credited for "actual" enrollments rather than just "intended" enrollments.
